PYPX Attitude Goal

  Today during class, we read a book called The Boy who Harnessed the Wind and as we listened to Miss P read it, we would think of different PYP attitudes, and then discuss with a partner when Miss P said turn and talk. After we finished the book, we all self assessed ourselves with how we feel we express the PYP attitudes. Then, we had to choose one of our weakest attitudes we assessed on and create a goal for Exhibition that we can try to express/do.

My goal is to work on having more Commitment in my work and while I'm working on Exhibition.

This is how I'm going to achieve this goal;

1- Make a list of all the fun and exciting things and aspects of my topic in Exhibition, so if I ever get bored or tired of my topic, I can re-read all of the good aspects of my topic so that way I can still be interested in it and work hard.
2- Remind my group to tell me (if I keep thinking I'm the leader) that I'm not always going to be the leader of our group and that I need to share the responsibilities of our project(s) and that we need to all work equally in order to get a good grade.
3- Have a reminder on Todoist or on my computer of what I need to get done so if I feel like I'm bored or uninterested, I have that reminder that I have to get this work done and that in order to get a good grade, I have to do what I have to do.

Reflections:

16/03/17-  I think that this week I have been improving, and for homework a couple of days ago I DID create a list of things that are great about my topic for Exhibition, and I think it's been helping me a lot. I feel like I still need to work on my second step to achieving this goal, because I think my team is letting me take the lead, but I don't want to ALWAYS be the leader and tell people what to do. That's why we created an essential agreement on this problem. I also am committing to my group, especially that we created Blogger Classroom to help us all.

24/03/17- I think that this week I have been more and more committed to my Exhibition team, because I feel like we're all doing our homework and we are all doing very great research (especially also taking visual notes). I think that the more our team is on task, the more things we get done, and the more I feel like I'm committed also through support from friends and family.

29/03/17- This week I'm feeling like I'm really committed in my work and that I'm always finding a way to contribute to my PYPX team and I'm succeeding. I think that my second step is always making sure that all of my teammates are also contributing and committing to my team, because I have a feeling that it may or may not be difficult for them.

07/04/17- This week I'm improving on this goal, because I am always staying on task (which is one of our team's essential agreements) and I'm getting a low of things done. Even though I don't use todoist anymore, making lists at home are helping me to do my homework and or work I need to do for Exhibition. I think I need to get one of the student planners for myself just to be a little more efficient.

28/04/17- This week was actually sharing our learning with others!!! I think that throughout our Exhibition unit and while my team and I were presenting, commitment was a very strong attitude to have. We had to perform a skit on a stage, present for and hour and a half, stand the whole time, and not ever leave the booth (except for skit, bathroom, water). It was very hard to do all of these things, but our team pushed through! I think that without knowing what we learned, and without practicing commitment in our unit, sharing our learning would probably be most difficult for our team.
