4th Unit of Inquiry- Technology Over Time!

The 4th UOI unit for the 5th graders is...... Technology over Time! (as you saw in the title). As we are currently in the unit, here are some of the activities we have already done...

• (In our notebooks) We created a web of what we thought technology was and different examples of technology or anything we knew about the unit. Then we had a gallery walk and we all got to see different ideas and give polite feedback. Then we learned that almost everything man made or used by man/woman is technology!
• (As a class) We all received pictures of different technology and we had to make a timeline by guessing when that technology was invented. When we were done, we watched a video and told us when the tech was invented. We had a lot of correct dates and VERY incorrect dates. 
• We each chose a different technology (all different, but we choose) and we did research about it and took notes on our computer.

    One of our projects we have recently accomplished was giving a speech on our researched technology by putting out poster on a whiteboard and someone videoed us giving a speech about it. I chose to research and present about the typewriter, because the topic seemed very interesting to me. When we presented
