Mr. Lemoncello’s Library Olympics- Persuasive Piece
Maleia Chapman
I think people who enjoy mysteries, codes and action packed humor, they would LOVE this book. For instance, in this book- There are lots of olympic games. Some are running around a library doing backflips over library carts, some are riding a dinosaur in a game and solving who are stealing books from the library. My favorite part of this book was when a girl did a backflip, front turn-over over a library cart WHILE running and pushing.
So, do you like robbers STEALING something? Well, this book is about that. Someone is stealing all the books from the library and Mr. Lemoncello might even LEAVE Alexandria Ville to new York because of it! Imagine LEAVING your favorite library. Will you be like the main character, Kyle and try to find out who is the book thief? Despite Mr. Lemoncello thinking about leaving the library, Kyle also has to worry about not being humiliated by a girl named Marjory and losing the olympics. If Team Kyle does not win… They don’t get their free school scholarship!
Do you enjoy figuring out things before other people and BEATING them at it? For example, this book is all about trying to beat other teams at games, paper airplane flying and racing to get a book that is the winning prize! Nevertheless, these games are not ALL about speed, it’s about HOW you do it, WHEN you do it, and how SMARTLY you do it.
You know, this book if full of lots of characters. One of the fun things I like to do is get a piece of paper and change the character’s name to a person in my class, family or a friend! So that way, it’s more funny and fun. For example: If you read a sentence like “Kyle grabbed the book and raced all the way back to Akimi. Sierra and Miguel were screaming saying “YOU CAN DO IT! YOU CAN DO IT!. Kyle could tell Evil Marjory was going to win anyway”. (That isn’t a real sentence, just for example). So if you changed it like this:
Kyle= Bob
Akimi= Nyan Cat
Sierra= Hobo Joe
Marjory= Elmo
Miguel= Barney, Imagine how much more funny it will be to read it.
The main questions of the book: Who will win the olympics? Who is the book thief? Will Mr. Lemoncello leave the library forever? Will Marjory win and humiliate team Kyle?
Guess you’ll have to read the book to find out!
