At the table on Thanksgiving dinner, we go around and say what we are thankful for?
I raise my hand, wanting to go first,
But of course it’s oldest first!
I cross my arms saying “unfair!”
as I slump to bottom of my chair.
When it’s my turn,
and my idea is taken,
In my mind, there saying “time’s a wastin’!
All I say is…
I am thankful for Thanksgiving and way more,
and I say it to you; What are you Thankful For?
Maleia Chapman
I made this poem to show how much I like Thanksgiving. I shows what my family does in November when Thanksgiving comes around. This assignment helped me to use rhyming, even though my poems can be free verse. This helped my learning to use my feelings and expressions and show them in my poems. Poetry can let you share your feelings and thought in nice and simple ways.
